America’s Army – Cheats

America’s Army: Operations may very well be one of the most ironic games ever. More than a few American politicians have bolstered their careers by condemning violence in popular entertainment, particularly in video games. Now the US government, by way of the Army, has produced a computer game that’s all about realistic, deadly combat. While this odd turn of events raises interesting ethical and political issues, many gamers probably just want to know one thing about this online shooter: Is it any good? The game was launched in a more limited form on July 4 of this year, but the launch was plagued by embarrassing problems, including bugs and too few official servers. Fortunately, the Army now seems to have gotten its act more or less together with this game. Now there are more servers, and America’s Army is generally more stable, which means you can more easily enjoy this exciting tactical shooter.

Use a text editor to open armyops.ini file in the system folder of the game directory. Find the phrase [Engine.GameEngine] and add this line:

bMPCheats=Enabled 2

Now you can press the TILDE key while playing to display the developer console.

Cheat: Sniper View On All Weapons

NOTE: You must be in a server that is running cheats to do this trick.

Type mpcheat changeclass s at the console window then go into scopemode with the sniper rifle. While using the scope’s view type mpcheat changeclass . You will change to the gun you selected and still be in scope view.

Cheat: Invincibility

If you want to be completely invulnerable to enemy attacks, try the following. Press the tilde (~) key to bring up the cheats console, and insert “mpcheat god” (minus the quotes). If inserted correctly, you will become invincible to enemy attacks.

Easter Egg: Prison Goodies

Start the game with cheats enabled and send yourself to the Leavenworth prison by committing an ROE offence. Use the mpcheat ghost code to look around the other cells for some easter eggs set-up by the dev team. This is for version 2.5 of the game.
